Unattended Gathering
Players must be actively present while gathering resources. The use of scripts, macros, or automation for unattended farming is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to mining, fishing, lumberjacking, begging, Bulk Order Deed (BOD) collection or turn-ins, NPC purchases, looting, farming rare artifacts, house placement, IDOC looting, and quest completion or rewards. Players found violating this rule may have their gathered resources confiscated and may face disciplinary action.
Maintaining Shard Cleanliness
Players must refrain from actions that create unnecessary clutter or negatively impact the game environment. Dropping and leaving fifteen or more items in a single location is prohibited, as is abandoning renamed tamed animals in the game world. Players who repeatedly create excessive litter will be subject to clean-up actions by staff, which may include removal of dropped items or pets, warnings, and potential penalties.
AFK Pet Training & Animal Handling
Training pets outside of a player-owned house must be actively monitored. Players training pets in public locations must remain at the keyboard and be able to respond to staff if prompted. Setting pets to attack a target dummy or monster while unattended is strictly prohibited. Additionally, taming large numbers of creatures and releasing them without disposing of them properly is considered an abuse of game mechanics and will be penalized.
Housing Construction and Customization
Player-built structures must adhere to in-game mechanics. The maximum height for a player house is three levels plus a roof. Houses may not be placed in a way that blocks public pathways, NPC interactions, or other players’ access to critical locations. Excessive housing abuse, such as blocking valuable land for resale purposes or using houses to create inaccessible areas, is subject to staff review and possible action.
PvP and Arena Rules
Players may not engage in duels with themselves or use multiple characters to artificially boost PvP rankings. Simultaneously controlling multiple characters in active PvP combat is strictly prohibited. Using scripts or macros to AFK scout Champion Spawns or Felucca hotspots is also forbidden. Players caught exploiting PvP mechanics for personal gain may face penalties, including PvP restrictions, stat resets, or temporary bans.
Scamming & Exploit Abuse
Scamming is highly discouraged, and the use of exploits, bugs, or unintended mechanics to gain an unfair advantage is strictly forbidden. If you discover an exploit, it is your responsibility to report it to staff immediately. Players who knowingly abuse exploits or fail to report game-breaking mechanics will face severe penalties, including item wipes, bans, or permanent account suspension.
Advertising Other Shards
Players may not promote, advertise, or recruit for other Ultima Online shards within Dante’s Inferno. This includes in-game chat, official forums, affiliated Discord channels, or direct messages to other players. Offenders may receive a permanent ban without warning.
Communication and Behavior
Players must maintain a respectful, welcoming community. The following actions are not tolerated:
- Spamming in world chat, Discord, or forums.
- Harassment of players or staff in any form, including excessive trolling, flaming, or personal attacks.
- Racist hate speech, which is grounds for immediate and permanent account termination.
- Excessive use of profanity, which may be moderated at staff discretion.
Dante’s Inferno aims to be a community-driven shard. Repeated violations of these communication guidelines will result in chat bans, temporary suspensions, or permanent removal from the community.
Account Rules, Limitations, and Security
Players may own a maximum of two accounts per person. Exceptions for family members sharing an IP address may be granted, provided there is no abuse. Selling, sharing, or trading accounts is strictly prohibited to protect the integrity of player ownership.
In the case of account recovery, assistance will be provided based on IP history, geographical region, and verification of account ownership. Dante’s Inferno staff will never ask for your password—any such request should be reported immediately.
Client and Assistant Rules
Players are responsible for keeping their game clients updated. Multi-clienting is allowed for PvM encounters, skill training, and general activities, provided each client is controlled separately. However, multi-boxing—where multiple clients are controlled with the same keystrokes or mouse clicks—is strictly prohibited.

Any use of unauthorized client modifications, automation, or cheat programs is grounds for immediate action, including account suspension or permanent bans.
Real-Money Trading (RMT) Policy
Advertising real-money transactions (RMT) on Dante’s Inferno platforms, including in-game chat, Discord, or forums, is strictly prohibited. While Dante’s Inferno does not officially endorse or prohibit RMT, players engaging in such transactions do so at their own risk.
Dante’s Inferno will not mediate or intervene in RMT-related disputes. If you choose to buy or sell in-game assets for real money, you do so without the protection of staff intervention. Additionally, selling or giving away Heritage accounts is strictly prohibited to protect original account owners.
Enforcement and Consequences
Players suspected of violating these rules must respond to staff within five minutes if prompted. Penalties are applied based on the severity of the infraction.
- First offense: A warning and possible removal of related items.
- Second offense: Stricter penalties, including temporary bans, PvP restrictions, or skill/stat rollbacks.
- Third offense: Permanent account action, including possible bans.
Staff decisions are final, but players may submit an appeal if they believe they were unfairly penalized.
Instant Ban Offenses
The following violations result in immediate and permanent account termination:
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to another player’s account.
- Advertising other shards on any Dante’s Inferno platform.
- Exploiting game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage.
- Using or distributing unauthorized client modifications, third-party cheats, or automation tools.
- Engaging in racist hate speech, doxxing, or extreme harassment.
